Wow! What a great learning experience! Without these exercises I don't know that
I would've taken the time to discover what is out there. I guess you can teach an
old new tricks! Not that I was always excited about some of the websites, but they
may be helpful for some of our patrons.
My favorite places were Library Thing and Blogger. A few of my friends and some members of our library board checked out my blog, that was fun! I also enjoyed reading other peoples blogs and their comments for each exercise. I loved SlideShare, there were some awesome photos on there!

I would be interested in learning more....but give me a few months to recover &
play with these "Things" first!

My husband & I love listening to podcasts when we are traveling. He has a
that we download our favorites on to ~ Car Talk from NPR, and Good Food from
KCRW. We have also downloaded some books from OverDrive and listened to them
when we take a long trip.
I just bought an IPOD, so I'm hoping to put a few podcasts on there to listen
to when I'm out from my 3 mile walk. I can hardly wait for spring to get here
so I can be outside walking!
I did visit the NLC Booktalk site and some of those reviews look interesting,
I may have to add that to my list!

Here is one of my favorite YouTube videos, it's called the "Mom Song" and anyone
who is a mom will appreciate it! And it's funny too!!
I also like "Bailey the Unknown Reindeer", how did that dog breathe under the
snow?? It's a hoot!!
The YouTube videos that we watched for some of the "Thing" lessons were great
and I appreciated the fact that he made them easy for those of us who are "computer-challenged" to understand.
There are some strange, and little too kinky for me, videos too! GEEZ! Just
typing in the word "dog" brought up some weird combinations!

How did I just spend so much time on the internet?? Well, Thing #20 is responsible!!

I'm into genealogy so I had to check out all three sites. They were pretty user friendly

and I think most of our patrons would be able to catch on quickly to setting up their

family tree. I did like My Heritage alittle more than the other two, but I already have

mine set up on the LDS website which I REALLY like because they store your information

in a vault somewhere near Salt Lake City!

I also enjoyed Boo. It took me to Sourceguides and that gave me some new resturants to try in the Lincoln & Omaha areas by "types" of food.

Having the list of the top 3 websites is very helpful, I still find it overwhelming though, all the
information that is out there!

Wow! An online word processor sounds like a pretty neat idea! Being able to access something I wrote from any internet computer is way cool! I did try to e-mail my doc to myself and it still hasn't arrived in my mailbox, so I'll go back & check again or send it to a friend who might enjoy my ramblings!
I already had a google account so I didn't try the Zoho.

Lots of interesting wiki conversations going on out there! I did some wiki prior to the Library
Camp I had planned on attending in Nov., but then I wasn't able to attend. It was great to have
the "list" of ideas people had for brainstorming and topics they wanted to discuss at camp. Since
I wasn't able to attend, I didn't understand some of the after-thoughts that were posted because
people were pretty brief and didn't explain themselves.
I did enjoy the video of Wikis in Plain English, made it look pretty simple to use. But when I went to some of the wiki pages they were set up in a way that I wasn't sure how a person could
contribute to what was posted there (Bull Run). Some wikis were as old as 2004!! Where have I
been!! JEEZ!!

I still have an overwhelmed feeling by all the technology that is out there! I had to read several of those articles twice and admire those people for their knowledge. There are some great sites but I'm cautious of having so many passwords out there and keeping them all straight.
I see Library 2.0 not only as computer usage but also as a physical library for the people who
still like to come and browse.
I'm glad to be learning about all the possiblities for our patrons use, and hope that I can help
make suggestions to them.
